Clinical studies

Our models start from patient tissue. Together with clinical partners, we run non-interventional studies that collect residual tumor tissue from standard surgery, with informed consent and ethics approval.

Ongoing

MEL-ECS-P01: Melanoma

Establishing primary cell models (2D cultures and 3D organoids) from cutaneous melanoma tissue to study the endocannabinoid system in cancer. A prospective, non-interventional study with the Institute of Oncology Ljubljana, approved by the Slovenian National Medical Ethics Committee.

In preparation

BC-ECS-P01: Breast cancer

Establishing and characterizing patient-derived breast cancer models, molecularly and functionally, to study the endocannabinoid system and develop personalized therapeutic approaches. A multicenter, prospective, non-interventional study with the Institute of Oncology Ljubljana and University Medical Centre Maribor, including a biobank of tissue, models and data for future research.

These are non-interventional studies. Participants do not receive treatment as part of these studies.
